We rely on volunteers, always need new drivers and new Duty Officers.

The majority of our volunteers need to be drivers with their own cars.

Fairwood Helpers are currently looking for volunteer Duty Officers.

If you can spare a few hours each month, we’d love to hear from you – your help would be very welcome. The role involves taking request details over the phone and arranging help from our pool of volunteers.

You will have to provide two referees, be interviewed and as with all charities, will undergo a DBS check with police records. All costs related to the DBS checks will be covered by Fairwood Helpers.

Once cleared you will receive a phone call asking you to do a job in perhaps a week’s time. If you are not avaialble, the Duty Officer will try someone else. There is no commitment. If you are able to help, for any driving jobs you will be able to claim the mileage allowance that we pay.
